In light of Holy Week and our study of the parables, we are going to explore Jesus' final parables shared with his followers on his journey to the cross. Participants will take turns reading the parables in one sitting. After the reading we will take time to raise questions and offer reflections on what we notice. Feel free to stay for the whole event or leave as needed. Light snacks and refreshments will be available. 

This gathering is an opportunity to experience the Last Supper through the eyes of Jesus and the Parables. We are invited to gather friends and neighbors to the table where they can encounter Jesus. If you are able, please sign up to bring a portion of our meal! Portions of the traditional seder meal will be provided to help deepen our understanding and connection to Jesus and his final meal.

We cannot fully celebrate the significance of the resurrection without first reflecting on the suffering endured by Jesus as he embraced death on a cross. Join us for this essential opportunity to spend time with Jesus during his final moments. An activity and childcare will be available to help our kids engage with this special time of remembrance. The gathering will take place in our onsite community garden. The children's activity will take place in our Education Building.

A Silent Retreat is any amount of time that is set aside to limit the distractions and noise of life in order to spend time with God. The goal is to quiet our bodies, minds, and hearts in order to turn our full attention to being in God's presence. This time spent is essential to deepening our connection to God, practicing listening for God's voice, and inviting God to transform our souls. On Holy Saturday, this practice also allows us to spend the day mirroring Jesus' followers as they mourned his death and wrestled with hope in the space between death and resurrection. 

The Education Building and grounds will be prepared with multiple spaces for you to rest in God's presence. You are welcome to come for any amount of time between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks will be provided. A guide will be available with questions, spiritual practices, scripture, and reflections to help prompt your time with God.  If this is your first silent retreat, we encourage you to set aside 1 to 3 hours. There will two opportunities to debrief with others but this is completely optional. Below is the schedule for the discussion space and when meals will be available.
