We know that meeting someone for the first time can be scary and awkward. Going to new church is a big step, and we want to do everything we can to ensure your first encounter with us is wonderful!
Worship with us at 10:00 AM on Sundays!
A typical worship service lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. The service begins with a welcome from one of our Elders who reads our scripture text and leads our community in prayer. Our worship team then leads us as we worship together. The worship team features members from our community who love to lead us using their many and varied gifts. The songs you hear will be a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs to reflect the diversity in our community. After three songs, we invite everyone to join us in taking communion also called the Lord's Supper. We take communion every Sunday and welcome all followers of Christ to participate in this time of remembrance. After communion, you will hear a hopeful message about the good news of Jesus. The preaching is biblically solid and relevant to the world in which we live. You will hear some of our leaders pray. We believe in prayer! As we pray for our world and each other, you’ll also have the opportunity to submit a prayer request. We close our service with brief announcements featuring upcoming events!
Our desire is that you will feel at ease and comfortable when you join us for worship . The atmosphere is warm and inviting like a family gathering. You are encouraged to join us for coffee and treats before the service begins to get to know members of our community or you are welcome to sit and wait until the service begins. We understand that extroverts and introverts experience a gathering differently and we want to be respectful of how you chose to engage.
We believe that our kids should have a meaningful experience during service because they are just as important members of our community as any adult. Our kids are invited to worship alongside their parents and have a special time right after communion where they are invited to the stage to practice meditating on a verse of the Bible. The kids are then dismissed to our Education Building where they participate in Kid's Church featuring Bible stories and crafts with our volunteers for children up to the third grade and an attended nursery for children up to three years old. We care about your child's safety and excitement about being a part of church.
Just be comfortable and be yourself. Jeans and flip flops are very common, but people wear anything from shorts and t-shirts to business suits. At Tempe Church, we're more interested in you as a person and not your fashion choices.
Are you searching for a deeper, more intimate life with God? At the Tempe Church, we would love to journey alongside you.
