RETREATS AND SEMINARS

As part of our "Reaching In" relationship of fostering authentic community and more mature discipleship, Tempe Church regularly hosts retreats and seminars with special guest speakers from around the country.

On November 6-7, Josh Graves, the preaching and teaching minister at Otter Creek Church (Brentwood, TN) and acclaimed author of The Feast: Serving Jesus in a Famished World (2009), will be speaking at Tempe Church on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. After the worship gathering, we'll have our annual Fall Festival for families and everyone to enjoy.

From October 22-24, we will hold our 2010 Fall Retreat for adults at Copper Basin. Our new minister Steve Tyree will be teaching this year's retreat.


Every year, guest speakers will come do a weekend series with us at the church building  or will join us at Copper Basin Bible Camp in Prescott, Arizona.

Steve Diggs- 2010 No Debt No Sweat! Christian money management seminar

Steve leads the No Debt No Sweat! ministry based out of the Antioch Church of Christ in Nashville, TN. He graduated from David Lipscomb College. His books include No Debt No Sweat, Free to Succeed, How to Speak Like a Superhero, Putting Your Best Foot Forward, and Life's Too Short to Miss the Big Picture.

Jack Reese- "That We May Be Healed" 2009 Fall Retreat

Jack is the Dean of the College of Biblical Studies and Professor of Preaching at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He received degrees from Abilene Christian University, University of Oklahoma, and University of Iowa. Along with Jeff Childers and Douglas Foster, he wrote a book, The Crux of the Matter.

Jonathan Storment- "How to Start a Riot: Lessons from Acts" 2009 special OASIS Ministry kickoff weekend 

Jonathan is the Associate Preaching Minister at Richland Hills Church of Christ in Fort Worth, TX. He holds degrees from Harding University and Abilene Christian University.

Randy Harris- "Listening to God" 2008 special weekend series

Randy is an Instructor of Bible at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He holds degrees from Harding University and Syracuse University. His books include God Work: Confessions of a Standup Theologian, The Second Incarnation, and Seeking a Lasting City.

Gary Holloway- "Spiritual Practices for People in a Hurry" 2008 Fall Retreat

Gary is Ijams Professor of Bible at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. He preaches at the Natchez Trace Church of Christ. Holloway holds degrees from Freed-Hardeman, Harding, University of Texas, and Emory University. He has written 25 books including You Might Be Too Busy If... and several volumes in the Meditative Commentary series.

Charles Siburt- "Unity is an Attitude" 2008 special weekend series

Charles is the Vice President for Church Relations and the Frazer Professor of Church Enrichment at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He has received degrees from ACU and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Siburt specializes in counseling and church leadership consultations.

Ed Fudge- "Some Ways God Leads Children" 2008 special weekend series

Ed is a lawyer in Houston, TX and the founder of Gracemail Ministries. He has received degrees from Abilene Christian University, Covenant Theological Seminary, Eden Theological Seminary, and the University of Houston. His books include The Divine Rescue, Hebrews: Ancient Encouragement for Believers Today, The Great Rescue, The Sound of His Voice, Two Views of Hell, and The Fire That Consumes

Wyane is the Senior Minister at Northwest Church of Christ in Phoenix, AZ. He received degrees from Lubbock Christian University and Abilene Christian University. He previously served as Campus Minister for the University of Arizona.

Keith Roberts- 2007 Prayer Enrichment Workshop

Keith is the Preaching Minister at the Calhoun Church of Christ and Dean of CrossView College of Prayer in Louisiana. He has received degrees from the White's Ferry Road School of Preaching, Southern Christian School of Religion, Harding Graduate School of Religion, and Theological University of America.
